About Us
Welcome to I.W.Y.S
Creative Education Provision
I.W.Y.S is a quality assured alternative education provision, providing personalised academic and vocational learning pathways for young people.
Our experienced teaching staff have worked with some of the hardest to engage young people and successfully introduced them to a positive change in aspirations, thoughts, and vocabulary, introducing them to the values, opportunities, and advantages that education and employment can bring as they transition into adulthood.
I.W.Y.S support permanently excluded pupils, pupils who require social and emotional support, and pupils with significant gaps in accessing learning and education. We provide nurturing, coping, and learning strategies via intense 1-2-1 mentoring and smaller group sessions.
I.W.Y.S. alternative provision uses a specialised approach to teaching and learning, by delivering personalised educational packages and collaborative experiences which focus on the student’s aspirations and long-term goals.
We have been successful in supporting students to complete English, Art, Maths and Science GCSE’s by offering intense 1-21 guidance and support at our provision. We focus on positive change by introducing tailored activities and opportunities to all students that attend our provision.
Our core values are to focus on the understanding and lifelong advantages that education and employment can bring to every individual, as our students transition into adulthood. I.W.Y.S have partnered with Staffordshire University to support I.W.Y.S. in identifying potential pathways to students accessing further education at a higher level.
As a registered AQA Unit Award centre, we can support our students in achieving certificates of recognition for the personalised work they have completed. This has been extremely beneficial in boosting the confidence and self-esteem in students with significant gaps in learning and education, especially students who are referred to us in the last stages of education, and who have been identified as leaving school without any GCSE’s.
We prepare and develop learning packages that can support those young people with specific learning needs and EHC plans, providing suitable nurturing, coping, and learning strategies via 1-2-1 mentoring and smaller group sessions.
